Gear That Bolts to the Car
This is the small, specific stuff: the things that use the vehicle itself instead of taking up room in it. A surface that hangs off the spare wheel. Power that comes out of the car instead of a wall. The kit that turns a park-up into a camp without unpacking half the boot to get there.
What belongs on this page
Not the tent and not the furniture. Those have their own pages. This one is for the pieces that only make sense because there is a vehicle parked next to you, and that give back more space than they take.
Things that mount to the car
A steel mesh table that clamps to the spare wheel and needs no ground at all.
Things the car powers
Jump starters, compressors and pumps that run off the battery or their own.
Things that clean it after
Cordless washers, blowers and vacuums for the sand that comes home with you.

The mounting point nobody uses
Every four wheel drive carries a spare wheel on the back and nothing ever hangs off it. The Tire Table does: it clamps to the wheel and braces down, so it carries no legs of its own and it does not care whether what is underneath is sand, rock or a slope.
That makes it the first surface up and the last one down. It is a 70 by 50 cm steel mesh top at 5 kg, and it is working before the chairs are out of the boot and still working when everything else is packed. On a beach, where a folding table sinks a leg and tips, it is the only flat thing you have. It sits beside the rest of the range in Tables.
Frequently asked questions
What is a tyre table actually for?
For the first ten minutes at camp and the last ten before you leave, and for anywhere the ground will not hold a table leg. It mounts on the spare wheel, so it is up before you have opened the boot properly and it is still there once the folding furniture is packed. On sand or on a slope it is the only surface that does not need levelling, because it is hanging off the vehicle rather than standing on the ground.
Will it fit my vehicle?
It mounts on an externally carried spare wheel, which is the standard arrangement on a four wheel drive, a wagon with a rear-door carrier or a ute with a tray mount. If your spare lives under the floor or inside the boot, there is nothing on the outside of the car to clamp to and this is not the table for you: a folding one from Tables is.
